Advocin is the other cattle fluoroquinolone, and its selling point is the shortest slaughter withdrawal of any injectable BRD antibiotic: 4 days. That makes it the usual choice when a sick animal is close to its sale or harvest date.
The same federal rule as Baytril applies: extra-label fluoroquinolone use in food animals is prohibited. The 4-day figure is only valid for exactly the labeled dose, route, and indication.
