Milk & dairy: Not approved for female dairy cattle 20 months of age or older.
Dectomax follows the same pattern as ivermectin: the pour-on (45 days) carries a longer slaughter withdrawal than the injectable (35 days). Doramectin is a fellow macrocyclic lactone with similar spectrum and slightly longer persistent activity claims on some parasites.
Record which formulation you used — "poured the calves with Dectomax" and "injected the calves with Dectomax" are ten days apart at shipping time.
What the label requires
- Injectable: 35 days. Pour-on: 45 days.
- Write down the formulation, not just "Dectomax" — the difference matters at shipping.
- Not for female dairy cattle 20 months or older.
Always follow the label on your bottle and your veterinarian's directions. Extra-label use — any different dose, route, or frequency — voids the withdrawal above; your vet sets the interval instead, usually via FARAD. When in doubt, hold longer. Never ship a treated animal by mistake
Log a treatment in HerdCommand with its withdrawal days and the animal carries a hold flag until the date clears — and the sale workflow warns you before a flagged animal ends up on a load. Works from the phone in your pocket, at the chute.
